About

The Classroom Reclaimed was created to restore purpose and integrity to American education. As an educator who once struggled with dyslexia, I understand the power of meaningful support — and the damage caused when policy replaces people.

This site exists to challenge high-stakes testing, elevate teacher voices, and promote traditional teaching values that still matter today. Through thoughtful articles, real stories, and shared insights, The Classroom Reclaimed invites teachers, parents, and advocates to be part of something better: a return to student-focused, teacher-empowered learning.

Mission

Our mission is to inform, inspire, and ignite change by:

  • Promoting a return to traditional education methods rooted in real learning

  • Opposing harmful high-stakes testing practices

  • Empowering teachers with freedom, trust, and support

  • Giving voice to those who know the classroom best — the educators inside it

We believe education should be personal, purposeful, and built on proven principles.

Vision

To see classrooms across America transformed into places of meaningful learning, where teachers are trusted, students are empowered, and education is guided by wisdom—not testing. We envision a future where traditional values meet modern needs, and every child is taught with purpose, not pressure.

Al Felder is a dedicated school administrator with 17 years of experience in education. He began his career in the classroom, teaching middle and high school history—including advanced placement courses—and serving as a Special Education inclusion teacher. His passion for education is deeply personal.

As a child, Al was diagnosed with Dyslexia and faced significant challenges in learning. Thanks to intensive Dyslexia Therapy from third through fifth grade, he was able to overcome those obstacles—an experience that shaped both his empathy and his approach to teaching.

Driven by a belief that education should be empowering—not oppressive—Al launched The Classroom Reclaimed to raise public awareness about the urgent need for reform in education. The site exists to amplify the voices of educators, spotlight the realities of the classroom, and champion a vision of learning grounded in trust, purpose, and student growth.
